The Last week of Scrapping with the Stars

Well this was the most fun week of all! The star was Irene Tan and I have been following her blog for a while and have really wanted to use some of her Scrapbooking Techniques – now I have and I think my new favourite product is glossy accents.

Here is my layout – I love how it came out.

A recap on the last nine weeks:

Contest layouts this week

Over at SBO the weeks challenge was to do a beach layout – I have had these Websters pages in my stash that were perfect and not been used so this is what I came up with.

Well last weeks star over at Scrappin’ Patch was Ronda Palazzari and this is my layout. I have been having a few rough weeks with Katie as things have changed around at school for her a lot and this has had an adverse effect on her at home and when we are out and about. So the layout is just about how I was feeling last week – yikes it has a lot of Journalling on it!

This week I have to morph into Irene Tan – another yikes I love her layouts and creations she is amazing talented and I think this will be the most challenging week of the contest! and it is the last week…

This weeks contest

I struggled a bit with this weeks Star over at Scrapping Patch -which was Stephanie Howell – very different from my style but she chose me as her third favourite which is great.

Here is the layout

and over at SBO it was to use white space something I have don’t do a lot either but have started to enjoy it.

New layouts for Competitions

Well Scrappin’ patch’s Star layouts have just been revealed. The star this week was Tara Orr who does amazing creations in a shabby Vintage style – right done my alley!

This is my favourite layout from the competition so far

Here is the comment I got from Tara it makes me smile:

“oh my gosh this is amazing! What is that background paper – LOVE it! Your distressing is perfect – the doily is so ‘me’ and the touches of browns in your title and music paper add the perfect amount of rustic. You are a scrappy queen!”

Now the next layout looks rather boring for Scrapbook Outlet’s Competition which was to do a black and white layout. This weeks challenge is to use wire and I love my layout but you will have to wait til Friday for the reveal.

Competition layouts

I am currently participating in two longer competitions –

Stars in their Eyes over at Scrapping Patch and Celebrate New Zealand over at Scrapbook Outlet.

Last week over at Scrapping Patch the Star was Stacey Michaud – very different to my style – here is my layout:

and over at SBO last weeks challenge was to include a NZ icon – I chose the pohutukawa tree and hand painted it on my layout.

I have done my layout for the second week at SBO which was to create a layout using only the National colours of NZ ie Black and white and I can show you tomorrow. I have also done a layout for this weeks star Tara Orr whose style is Vintage shabby – enjoyed this heaps and will be able to show you next Wednesday.

This weeks Star layout

This weeks star was Zarah S Peterson a very talented Swedish scrapper. I love her creations. Here is my take on her style – one of my fur babies – my very first pet after getting married – Harley who will be 13 this year.

Week 3 Stars Contest – ELIZABETH KARTCHNER

This week I found it hard – bright colours not messy and white space but perfect for the Zorb photos

Another layout to share is an example of what you could do in my class tomorrow – a girly layout

I am also working on a series of classes which are more my style which starts in three weeks time on Fridays -WATCH THIS SPACE
